Command Senior Chief Chinara Simon, a native of the Bronx, NY, enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 2001. She completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in November 2001 and reported to Naval Training Center, Meridian, Mississippi where she completed Aviation Administrationman ‘A’ school. Upon Graduation, she reported to her first command, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment, Jacksonville, FL. Other fleet assignments include Patrol Squadron 16, Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes IL, Strike fighter Squadrons 195 and 41, USS EISENHOWER (CVN 69) and OPNAV, Arlington, VA. Most recently, CMDCS Simon served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Naval Support Facility Redzikowo Poland.
Senior Chief Simon is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 231). She has earned the Enlisted Aviation Warfare, Surface Warfare and Master Training Specialist designations. Her decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
