CDR David Cook is a native of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.
Afloat, CDR Cook served aboard USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) as Ordnance Officer and Combat Information Center Officer. He then served in Riverine Squadron Three as the Officer in Charge of Detachment Two and completed a deployment to Basrah, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Freedom. As a Department Head, CDR Cook served onboard USS RAMAGE as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer. He has completed deployments in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
Ashore, CDR Cook served as a Seamanship and Navigation Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, as the Anti-Air Warfare Weapons Section Head at OPNAV N96, and as the Assistant Captain Detailer in PERS-41 at the Navy Personnel Command.
CDR Cook’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and multiple unit and service awards including the Battle Efficiency Award (three awards). He earned his Master of Business Administration from Penn State University in 2014.
CDR Cook is married to the former Ms. Caroline Haggerty from Mount Kisco, NY.
