 Command Master Chief Brandon Ellison enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 25 August 1998.  Upon completion of basic training, he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” school, Great Lakes, Illinois.  After graduation he reported to Field Medical Service School, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and attended Field Medical Service Technician “C” School. In May of 1999, he reported to his first duty station, 2d Medical Battalion, 2d Force Service Support Group, Camp Lejeune NC deploying to both Greece and Norway with 2d Landing Support Battalion in support of unit exercises. In 2002, he transferred to the Naval Operational Medicine Institute (NOMI), Pensacola, FL where he participated in the development, review and evaluation of the HSV 2 SWIFT, Army’s Flight Medic, USMC CASEVAC, and Navy SMT Corpsman programs, in addition to supporting JTF KATRINA hurricane relief efforts. In October 2005, Petty Officer Ellison reported to 2d Marine Air Wing, Cherry Point, NC where he deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM with Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 and Marine Aircraft Group 14.  After the deployments, he was reassigned to the 2d MAW General’s Staff as the Medical Plans Chief and Navy Personnel Officer. After his selection to CPO in 2008 he was assigned as the SEL for the 2d MAW Combined Wing Medical Clinic. 
In 2009, Chief Ellison volunteered as an IA in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as a Security Force Advisor Team NCOIC with NATO Training Mission Afghanistan and the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division.  Chief Ellison transferred to 2d Marine Logistics Group Commanding General’s Staff, G-1, as the Navy Personnel Officer & Manpower Chief.  While assigned, he deployed to Afghanistan with Combat Logistics Regiment 2 as the Regional Command South West Medical Planner.
In 2014, Chief Ellison was selected for special duty as a Command Climate Specialist, and was assigned to Pre-Commissioning Unit GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78).  He commissioned the FORD as a Plankowner and was promoted to Senior Chief and assigned as the Training Department Leading Chief.  Senior Chief Ellison was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in February of 2019 and was assigned as the CMDCS of INDIANAPOLIS (LCS 17) Gold and ST. LOUIS (LCS 19) Blue and Gold Crews, as a plankowner, he commissioned USS ST. LOUIS in August 2020 and was promoted to CMDCM September of 2020.  Master Chief Ellison reported to USS McFAUL June of 2021.
Master Chief Ellison is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy Class 207 Red and Command Master Chief/COB Course 202. He has earned an Associate’s of Science degree Thomas Edison State University and is a Certified Professional in Human Resources.
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (1 Silver Star), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and numerous campaign and unit awards.  He has earned his Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare, Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Air Warfare, Enlisted Information Warfare, and the U.S. Army’s Basic Aviation Badge.
