A native of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Master Chief Willie enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2002. After completing Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Seamanship Apprentice School Great Lakes, Illinois. His first duty station was USS GEORGE PHILLIP (FFG-12) as an undesignated seaman in Deck division.
Master Chief Willie’s other assignments include Beach Master Unit ONE (BMU-1) Coronado, CA, Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville (NRD Jax), Jacksonville, FL, Coastal Riverine Squadron FOUR (CRS-4), Little Creek, VA, Littoral Combat Squadron TWO (LSCRON TWO), Jacksonville, FL, and USS ST. LOUIS (LCS-19) Gold Crew, Jacksonville, FL, and USS DETROIT Blue Crew, Jacksonville, FL. He is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief of USS JOHN BASILONE DDG (122).
His academic accomplishments include a Master’s in Business Administration in Human Resources from Saint Leo University. He is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy Class 212 (Purple Team) and CMC/COB Class 210.
Military decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 awards), and other various unit and campaign awards.
