A native of Snohomish, Washington, CDR Carne Livingston graduated from Washington State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and earned his Commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Idaho.
CDR Livingston’s sea assignments include 2nd Division Officer in USS ESSEX (LHD 2), Damage Control Assistant in USS RAMAGE (DDG 61), Engineer Officer in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60), First Lieutenant in USS BOXER (LHD 4), Assistant Surface Operations Officer for Carrier Strike Group ONE embarked on USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), Sea Combat Operations and exercise planner for Carrier Strike Group FIFTEEN and Executive Officer in USS PORTLAND (LPD 27). CDR Livingston has completed 7 deployments to the Western Pacific/Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf.
Ashore, CDR Livingston served as Instructor, Seamanship and Navigation at the United States Naval Academy.
CDR Livingston reported to Bath, Maine in May 2022 as the Commanding Officer in PCU JOHN BASILONE (DDG 122).
CDR Livingston holds a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in 2010. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) along with various unit and campaign awards.
