A 2006 graduate of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program from Maine Maritime Academy, Commander Brett Ringo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Logistics. He is originally from Colchester, CT.
A career surface warfare officer, Commander Ringo’s shipboard assignments include: USS OAK HILL (LSD 51) as the Deck Division Officer, USS FREEDOM (LCS 1) and USS FORT WORTH (LCS 3) as the Combat Systems Officer and Operations Officer, Amphibious Squadron EIGHT as the N3 and Chief Staff Officer, Expeditionary Strike Group TWO as the Flag Secretary and N1, and Executive Officer of the USS BILLINGS (LCS 15) Blue Crew. He now serves as the Commanding Officer of USS WICHITA (LCS 13).
Ashore, CDR Ringo’s assignments include: graduate from the Naval Postgraduate School earning a Master of Security Studies degree in National Security Affairs, Riverine Squadron THREE as the Officer in Charge of Detachment Three deploying to Basra, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and most recently, he served as the DDG Type Desk Officer under the N43 ACOS at COMNAVSURFLANT.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
