Master Chief Myers is a native of Asbury Park, New Jersey, enlisted in the Navy in February 21, 1996. Upon completion of basic training Master Chief Myers was sent to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois for Fireman Apprenticeship training and Machinist Mate “A“ School. Following his training he reported to USS McKee (AS 41) in October 1996. In September 1998, Master Chief Petty Myers rate converted from Machinist Mate to Operations Specialist. In March of 1999, he was promoted to Operations Specialist Third Class, then later transferred to USS Boxer (LHD 4) in October, 1999.
Master Chief Myers’s service included deployments on to USS McKee (AS 41), USS Boxer (LHD 4), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), USS McCampbell (DDG 85), USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3), USS New Orleans (LPD 18), USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and Commander Destroyer Squadron Four Zero.
Ashore Master Chief served at Center Surface Combat Systems, San Diego, CA, Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific, Pearl Harbor, HI, Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Eleven, Jacksonville, FL, Commander Littoral Combat Squadron Two, Mayport, FL, and Commander Surface Division Two One, Mayport, FL.
Currently, Master Chief is serving as the Command Master Chief onboard USS Carney (DDG 64).
He is graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Chief Petty Officer Continuum Leadership and Development Course, Command Master Chief Course, and studies at Excelsior University.
His personal awards include: the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
