Master Chief Myers is a native of Asbury Park, New Jersey, enlisted in the Navy in 1996. Upon completion of basic training Master Chief Myers was attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois for Fireman Apprenticeship training and Machinist Mate “C“ School. Following his training he reported to USS McKee (AS 41) in October 1996. In 1998, Master Chief Petty Myers rate converted from Machinist Mate to Operations Specialist. In March of 2000, he was promoted to Operations Specialist Second Class, and then later transferred to USS Boxer (LHD 4) in October, 1999. Later in his career was advanced to Master Chief Operations Specialist.
Master Chief Myers’s service included deployments on to USS McKee (AS 41), USS Boxer (LHD 4), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), USS McCampbell (DDG 85), USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3), USS New Orleans (LPD 18), USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and Commander Destroyer Squadron Four Zero.
Ashore Master Chief served at Center Surface Combat Systems, San Diego, CA, Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific, Pearl Harbor, HI, Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Eleven, Jacksonville, FL, Commander Littoral Combat Squadron Two, Mayport, FL, and Commander Surface Division Two One, Mayport, FL.
He is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 234, Gray), Chief Petty Officer Continuum Leadership and Development Course, and later studies at Excelsior University.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards. He is also qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, additionally with certifications as a Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist.
