 Command Master Chief (CMDCM) Werner, a native of Stillwater, New Jersey enlisted in the United States Navy in February of 1996.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to NATTC Pensacola, Florida, where he completed Air Traffic Control “A” School.

 His first Duty Station was the USS George Washington (CVN 73) stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as an Air Operations Supervisor and Advanced to Third Class Petty Officer.  In September 1999, he transferred to Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility Virginia Capes in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he served as a Facility Watch Supervisor and promoted to Second Class Petty Officer. In August 2004, he reported to NATTC Pensacola, Florida, where he completed Air Traffic Control “C” School and reported to the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) assigned as a CATCC Supervisor and advanced to Petty officer First Class.

In November of 2007, he reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. In September 2008 he was pinned to the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was assigned as the training Chief and Radar Branch Chief while stationed at NAS Pensacola. In October of 2011 he reported aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) as the LCPO and CATCC Supervisor of OC Division and Also qualifying as the AIROPS Watch Officer.  After promoting to Senior Chief Petty Officer He became the Operations Department LCPO.  In June of 2015 he reported to the USS Abraham Lincoln and became the Security Department LCPO for 18 months.  After being selected to Master Chief in 2017 he took over as the Operations Department LCPO and continued his duties CATCC Supervisor, CATCC Watch Officer and AIROPS Watch Officer. In November of 2019 he reported to Naval Air Station Key West where served as the Operations Department LCPO. In March of 2020 he was selected for the Command Master Chief program, completed Command Leadership School and reported to USS RAMAGE in June 2020.

CMDCM (AW/SW/IW) Werner has completed numerous deployments to Fifth and Sixth Fleets.  In September of 2016 he graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200).  His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps volunteer service medal (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
