Capt. Jason Labott
Commanding Officer, Engineering Assessments Atlantic

Captain Jason Labott is a native of Wildwood, Florida, and a graduate of the University of Florida where he was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps program in 1999. He also holds a Masters of Public Administration, Masters of Military Arts and Sciences, and Joint Professional Military Education Phase I.
Captain Labott’s initial sea duty assignment was aboard USS Hawes (FFG 53) as Communications Officer and Assistant Chief Engineer. His next assignment was aboard USS Cole (DDG 67) where he served as Fire Control Officer. Subsequent sea duty assignments include Chief Engineer aboard USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) and USS San Jacinto (CG 56), and Surface Operations Officer for Carrier Strike Group Two.
Captain Labott served as Executive Officer, fleeting up to Commanding Officer, aboard USS Laboon (DDG 58). After assuming command, USS Laboon deployed to the U.S. Fifth and Sixth Fleet areas of operations with the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, logging more than 50,000 nautical miles.
Shore assignments include Assistant Professor of Military Science, Hampton Roads NROTC Unit, U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College; the staff of Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (N44); and Engineering Assessments Atlantic.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (three awards) and various service campaign and unit decorations. He is also the recipient of the Navy League and Surface Warfare Schools Command Top Snipe awards.
Captain Labott assumed command of Engineering Assessments Atlantic in March 2021.
