Senior Chief Bryon Vosburg, a native of Hudsonville, Michigan, enlisted in the Navy in 2002. Upon completing basic training, he attended Naval Air Crew Candidate School (NACCS), Aviation Rescue Swimmer School (ARSS), Aviation Warfare System Operator Apprentice School, and Fleet Replacement Aircrew School (FRAC). He also earned an Associates of Science from Coastline Community College, as well as his Private Pilot License with Instrument Rating.
At sea, Senior Chief Vosburg served at Helicopter Anti-Submarine Light Squadron 51 (HSL-51) making multiple deployments on board USS Vincennes (CG-49), USS Gary (FFG 51), and USS Lassen (DDG-82) and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 77 (HSM-77) deploying on board USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). Additionally, he served with NSW Support Activity 2 and Special Reconnaissance Team 2, deploying worldwide to support the NSW mission.
Senior Chief Vosburg’s shore assignments include the Naval Survival Training Institute as a high-risk instructor where he qualified as a Master Training Specialist. He then served at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 40 (HSM-40), training the next generation of Naval Aircrew.
His personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (3 awards) and various other unit and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Naval Aircrew, Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare, Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare, and Naval Parachutist insignias.
