Cmdr. Jorge Estuardo Roldan is originally from Guatemala and grew up in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University, earning a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a M.S. in Molecular Sciences and Nanotechnology. Cmdr. Roldan entered naval service through the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate Program and he was commissioned in December 2006.
As a Division Officer, he served as Combat Information Center Officer aboard USS GUARDIAN (MCM 5), Sasebo, Japan and as Radiological Controls Officer aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65), Norfolk, VA. As a Department Head, he served as Operations Officer aboard USS McCampbell (DDG 85), Yokosuka, Japan and as Main Propulsion Assistant aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), Bremerton, WA. Cmdr. Roldan has completed multiple Arabian Gulf deployments and 7th Fleet patrols.
Within Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, Cmdr. Roldan served at Riverine Squadron THREE in Yorktown, VA. He completed two deployments as the Task Group Operations Officer and Riverine Command Boat Officer-in-Charge. As the Commanding Officer for Coastal Riverine Squadron FOUR, Mk VI Patrol Boat Company, he led his teams through an 8-month deployment in 5th and 7th Fleets AORs.
Ashore, he served as Officer-in-Charge for COMNAVAIRPAC N9 Detachment, Bremerton, WA. Most recently, he served as Executive Officer for Regional Support Organization, PACNORWEST, Everett, WA.
Cmdr. Roldan’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medals and various campaign and unit awards. While in command, his Mk VI Task Unit was awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation for their 5th Fleet deployment in 2020 and earned the Battle E.
Cmdr. Roldan is married to fellow Surface Warrior Cmdr. Sara A. Roldan. They currently reside in Norfolk, VA with their son Marcos Matéo.
