Captain Pledger graduated in 2000 from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in History. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and the University of Mississippi where he earned a Master’s in Business Administration.
His assignments at sea include tours aboard USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54), USS CHAFEE (DDG 90), and USS DECATUR (DDG 73). He served as Commanding Officer of MCM Crew EXULTANT embarked in USS WARRIOR (MCM 10), USS DEXTROUS (MCM 13) and USS CHIEF (MCM 14), Commanding Officer of MCM Crew SPARTAN embarked in USS CHAMPION (MCM 4) and USS SENTRY (MCM 3), and Commanding Officer of USS COLE (DDG 67).
Ashore, Captain Pledger served with the University of Mississippi NROTC Unit, the Navy’s Office of Legislative Affairs and the Joint Staff, J-7 Deployable Training Division. Captain Pledger’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
