Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Parrish, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, earned his bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College in 2008 and commissioned through Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) Newport, Rhode Island in 2010. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in Leadership, Education & Development from George Washington University in 2015 and completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I through the Naval War College in 2017.
Afloat, LCDR Parrish has deployed to U.S. 5th, 6th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility. His shipboard assignments include: USS Stout (DDG 55) as ordnance officer, USS Bataan (LHD 5) as auxiliaries machinery officer both homeported in Norfolk, Virginia and USS Ashland (LSD 48) as operations officer, forward deployed in Sasebo, Japan. He most recently served as executive officer on USS Devastator (MCM 6) and fleet up to commanding officer February 2022, forward deployed in Manama, Bahrain.
Ashore, his assignments include 3
rd Battalion executive officer and 13
th company officer at the United States Naval Academy (USNA).
His decorations include Navy Commendation Medal (4 Awards), Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Unit & Meritorious Unit Commendation Medals, Humanitarian Service Medal and multiple Battle Efficiency awards with great crews.
