Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Marilyn V. Ferguson is a native of Cleveland, OH, and moved to Denton, NC, where she graduated from high school in 2000.  She enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 2001.  Upon completion of Basic Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, she reported to Aviation Maintenance Administration (AZ) “A” School in Meridian, MS. 
 
In May of 2001 she reported to her first duty station FLTCOMPRON Six (VC-6) in Norfolk, VA, where shortly after she was assigned to the Dam Neck Detachment.  In June of 2003, she reported to USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75) at Naval Station Norfolk where she was assigned to the Quality Assurance Division as the Central Technical Publications Librarian (CTPL), Maintenance Admin Supervisor, and Production Control Supervisor.  During her time onboard she qualified Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS), Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS), and Damage Control Training Team Member (DCTT).  
 
    In March of 2007, she reported to Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) Mid-Atlantic, Site Norfolk, where she was assigned to Production Control Logs and Records.  There, she completed her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and volunteered for an Individual Augmentee (IA) to NAVCENT Forward Kuwait in September 2008.  She served an eight month IA tour as the Warrior Transition Program LPO before returning to FRC.
 
    In December of 2010, she reported to USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) at Naval Station Norfolk where she was assigned as the Maintenance Admin Leading Petty Officer.  She completed a successful deployment and upon return from deployment, she was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in September, 2011.  She then completed the final deployment on the “Big E”.
 
    In January, 2014, Chief Ferguson reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO (HSC-2) as the Logs and Records Leading Chief Petty Officer.  Shortly after reporting onboard, she was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer, and was then selected for the Command Senior Chief Program.  In January of 2017, she reported to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Cleveland, Oh as the Fourth Battalion and Cleveland MEPS Senior Enlisted Advisor where she was selected to Command Master Chief.  In October, 2018 she reported to the “Sea Dragons” of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron Twelve (HM-12) as the Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Ferguson is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of USS GETTYSBURG.  She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class # 201, Red) and the Command Leadership CMC/COB Course in Newport, RI. 
 
Master Chief Ferguson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Saint Leo University and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership from University of Charleston.  Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), and various other unit and campaign awards.
