Master Chief Maclin, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School in June, 1999. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Memphis, TN 4 January 2001. He completed basic training at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois in April, 2001 as an undesignated Fireman and later selected the designated rate of Operations Specialist.
Master Chief Maclin’s sea duty assignments include USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64) homeported San Diego, CA from 2001-2003, USS SHILOH (CG 67) homeported San Diego, CA from 2003-2006, USNS RAPPAHANNOCK (TAO 204) homeported San Diego, CA from 2009-2010, and USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG 48) homeported San Diego, CA from 2010-2015.
Ashore, Master Chief Maclin has served at SEAL TEAM SEVENTEEN homeported San Diego, CA from 2006-2009 and UWDC DET SAN DIEGO homeported San Diego, CA from 2015-2018.
He was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in February 2018 and is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Khaki group, Class 206) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (A-570-4500).
Master Chief Maclin has served as Command Senior Enlisted Leader of COMMANDER, TASK FORCE 65 and DESTROYER SQUADRON 60, Command Master Chief of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Everett Detachment, and currently serves as Command Master Chief of USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80).
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Metal, the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various campaign and service awards.
