Cmdr. Thomas Roberts

CDR Tom Roberts is from Seattle, Washington. He is a 2005 graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
A surface warfare officer, he has had the pleasure of serving on a cruiser and destroyers out of Norfolk, San Diego and Pearl Harbor. In his time on sea duty, he has deployed to C6F, C7F, C5F and C4F areas of responsibility.
In his most recent sea assignments, he served as Executive Officer in USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99) deploying with CARRIER STRIKE GROUP 10 to the Mediterranean, Operations Officer in USS CHOSIN (CG 65) and in USS MILIUS (DDG 69).
Additional assignments at sea include Division
Officer tours as Navigator, USS PAUL
HAMILTON (DDG 60) as well as Electrical and
Communications Officer in USS MAHAN (DDG 72). He has served alongside outstanding groups of young Americans and been a part of great teams every step of the way.
Ashore, CDR Roberts first earned his Master’s degree in Systems Engineering Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School and subsequently served at the Surface Warfare Officers School in N71 as lead instructor for the Full Mission Bridge simulator. Following Department Head, he was lead analyst for Integrated Air and Missile Defense on the OPNAV staff (N81). He served for nearly two years as the Junior Military Assistant to Richard V. Spencer, the 76th Secretary of the Navy, and most recently as Deputy Executive Assistant to VADM Brad Cooper in the Office of Legislative Affairs.
His decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and two Battle Efficiency awards.
