Captain Dan “Prozac” Prochazka was commissioned from the NROTC program at Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering in March 1999.

After designation as an E-2 Hawkeye Naval Aviator, Captain Prochazka joined the Liberty Bells of VAW-115 in Atsugi, Japan for his initial sea tour.  Additional sea duty assignments include VAW-124 Bear Aces as a training officer, VAW-126 Seahawks as a department head, and VAW-125 Tiger Tails as Executive and Commanding Officer establishing the first navy squadron in Iwakuni, Japan.  He deployed around the world including Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, NEW DAWN, and ENDURING FREEDOM.  He most recently served as the Executive Officer for the Battenberg Cup and Battle “E” winning team onboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).

He served ashore with the VAW-120 Greyhawks as FRS instructor and Weapons Tactics Instructor, as a student at the Naval War College, and on the OPNAV Staff (N51). 

Additionally, he served as a Legislative Fellow for Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) during the 113th Congress.

Captain Prochazka is a graduate of the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program and holds Masters Degrees with honors from Norwich University and the Naval War College.  He also holds Graduate Certificates from the London School of Economics and Georgetown University. 

Captain Prochazka accumulated over 4,250 flight hours and 183 combat missions.  He is a three time (2005, 2012, 2017) winner of the Navy-Marine Society Peer Leadership Award and was the Hawkeye Pilot of the Year.  His decorations include seven Sea Service Ribbons and service with five Battle “E” winning teams.
