Commander Wood is a native of Tallahassee, FL. A 2005 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Commander Wood earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. A 2011 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Commander Wood earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A career surface warfare officer, Commander Wood’s shipboard assignments include: USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) as Electronic Warfare Officer and Assistant Operations Officer, USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37) as Damage Control Assistant, USS ROBERT G. BRADLEY (FFG 49
) as Chief Engineer, USS CORONADO (LCS 4) as Chief Engineer, and USS SIROCCO (PC 6) as Commanding Officer. He currently serves as the Executive Officer aboard USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68).
Commander Wood was an Individual Augmentee serving as Assistant Operations Officer JTF 515.1, USNS STOCKHAM (T-AK 3017) deployed in support of JSOTF-P. Ashore, he served as PACFLT CRUDES Surface Placement Officer for PERS-41, Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN.
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
