Senior Chief Galarza, a native of Passaic, NJ, joined the Navy on February 2, 2002 and attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. He graduated from Master-at-Arms “A” School, San Antonio, TX in July of 2002 and served as a Master-at-Arms from 2002-2021. He was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in February 2021 and is currently serving as the Command Senior Chief aboard the USS Billings LCS 15.
His previous fleet assignments include Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy as a Criminal Investigator; Camp Lemonnier Djibouti, Africa as a forward deployed Harbor Security Unit Leading Petty Officer; Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story as the Security Department Leading Petty Officer; Coastal Riverine Group 2 Detachment Bahrain as a Mission Commander and Tactical Supervisor; Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic as Platoon Leading Chief Petty Officer; Submarine Base Kings Bay Security Department Senior Enlisted Advisor; and Command Senior Enlisted Advisor aboard USS Nantucket (LCS 27).
During his fleet assignments, Senior Chief Galarza conducted six extended overseas deployments to the 4
th, 5
th, and 6
th Fleet areas of responsibility in support of national tasking, NATO Operations, and various campaigns.
Senior Chief Galarza is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 166, holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Specialization in Homeland Security from Saint Leo University, and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville. Additionally, he has earned his Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Master Anti-terrorism Specialist, and Nuclear Weapons Security Specialist certifications.
