Master Chief Raymond LaCarlos Brady began his Naval career in basic training at Fleet Training Center, Orlando, FL on July 5, 1990. After basic training, he completed apprenticeship training and later completed Yeoman 'A' school after serving onboard his first command. Master Chief Brady has an Associate’s degree from Coastline Community College, and a Bachelor of Administration with a major in Human Resources from the University of Management and Technology.
He has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS). Master Chief Brady was selected to the Command Senior Chief program in 2009 and is a graduate of both the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 147/Blue Group), and Command Master Chief course.
His sea duty assignments include USS Savannah (AOR 4), USS L.Y. Spear (AS 36), Commander, Carrier Air Wing Eight embarked onboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and USS Kauffman (FFG 59) all in Norfolk, VA; MCM Crew Fearless onboard USS Ardent (MCM 12) and USS Pioneer (MCM 9), and USS Howard (DDG 83) homeported in San Diego, CA.
Master Chief Brady's shore duty assignments include Commander, Amphibious Group Two, Fleet Technical Support Center, Atlantic, both in Norfolk, VA; and U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Far East in Yokosuka Japan.
He has served as Command Master Chief of MCM Crew Fearless onboard USS Pioneer (MCM 9) and USS Ardent (MCM 12), USS Howard (DDG 83), Naval Recruiting District Atlanta, and Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 57 in Bahrain.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Good Conduct Medals (eight awards), and various service, campaign, and unit decorations.
Master Chief Brady assumed his duties as Command Master Chief of Afloat Training Group Mayport in May 2018.
