Command Master Chief Mills is a native of Memphis, TN. He graduated from Sheffield High School, Memphis, TN and enlisted in the Navy on July 22, 1999. Upon completion of Recruit Training, Great Lakes, IL he attended Fireman ATD School at Naval Training Command Great Lakes, IL. Senior Chief Mills is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 221, CMC/COB Course
Afloat, after completion of Fireman ATD school he reported to USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in Norfolk, VA. He served as ER40/14 Maintenanceman and ER13 Workcenter Supervisor. In August 2006 he reported to USS John F Kennedy (CV 67). He served as ER40 Assistant Workcenter Supervisor. In August 2007 he reported to USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) Virginia Beach, VA. He served ER04 LPO, ship’s 3MA and Engineering Dept ALPO. In December 2015 he reported to COMLCSRON TWO, PCD LCS CREW 110, Mayport, FL. In February 2020, he was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) Program. His positions at the command included, Departmental LCPO, Damage Control Assistant, and Readiness Control Officer. In July 2020 he reported to COMLCSRON TWO, Mayport, FL PRECOM section, for duty as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of LCS Gold Crew 112.
Ashore, In July 2003 he reported to Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Virginia Beach, VA. He served as shift armorer, Patrolman, Chief of the Guard, and harbor patrol coxswain. In July 2013 he reported to the White House Military Office, Washington DC. He served as Departmental LCPO and Engineering Technician Team Leader of Joint Service Unit.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1); Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (1); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3); Good Conduct Medal as well as other unit and campaign awards.
