CDR Yuhas was born in San Jose, CA and raised in Cave Creek, AZ. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Commission through the Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Program.  He holds two Master of Science degrees, one in Operations Research from Naval Postgraduate School and a second in National Security Strategy from the National War College.

 

Afloat, he served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Officer in USS HOWARD (DDG 83), Training Officer in USS NICHOLAS (FFG 47), Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS COWPENS (CG 63). Most recently, he commanded USS THUNDERBOLT (PC 12) forward deployed in the Fifth Fleet AOR.

Ashore, CDR Yuhas taught Naval Science at the University of Arizona’s NROTC Unit.  He also served as the 2nd Tour Department Head and Early Command Detailer as well as the Assistant Community Manager for Surface Warfare at Naval Personnel Command, PERS-41.
