 Command Master Chief Dion C. Dupree is a native of Washington D.C. He enlisted in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist and entered Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. in December 1999.

Following recruit training, his tours included Naval Special Warfare Command San Diego, Calif. and USS Thomas S. Gates (CG-51) Pascagoula, MS. where he would partake in three UNITAS and CD Operation Deployments in support of the War on Drugs. Onboard the USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51) he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Following Pascagoula, Dupree transferred to USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). There he would deploy in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Between the two of the Navy’s finest warships he received an abundance of qualification to include Combat Information Center Watch Officer, Shipping Officer, Piloting Officer, Tactical Operation Plot Watch Officer and Junior Officer of the Watch (JOOW) at SEA onboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71).
  
During this assignment, he deployed to the North Arabian Gulf and qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. For his next sea duty, he reported to Riverine Squadron Three, where he served as Senior Enlisted Leader, Boat Captain, Riverine Patrol Officer, Detachment weapons Chief, ISR LCPO as well as JTAC/UAS Program Manager for the command during two deployments cycles. While stationed at RIVRON THREE, he also successfully completed Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist. Once merged into Coastal Riverine Squadron Three, Dupree served in Delta Company 1st Platoon as LCPO and Riverine Command Boat (RCB) Patrol Officer.

His shore duty tour includes United States Naval Academy (USNA) where he instructed NN200/300 courses. While onboard USNA he received his Master Training Specialist (MTS), became MTS program Coordinator received the Craftmaster pin and was promoted to the ranks of CPO. OPNAV N3N5 serving as Senior Enlisted Leader. His Command Master Chief tours include DISA EUROPE, Stuttgart Germany and is currently the command master chief of USS Gravely(DDG 107).

Dupree is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy Class 181 Blue Group, CMC/COB Class 178 and Naval Senior Leadership Seminar Monterey.  His decorations include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and various other campaign medals and awards.
