Upon his separation in January 1997, he was assigned to General Detail, Naval Support Facility Anacostia in May 1997.  His first Sea tour was as a deck seaman aboard USS Reid (FFG 30) homeported in San Diego, CA from September 1997 until her decommissioning in September 1998.

He went on to complete Advanced Electronic Technical Core and FC “A” School at Surface School Command, Great Lakes, IL in October 1998. After graduation, he was temporarily assigned aboard USS Anzio (CG 68) until October 1999 when he began AEGIS Computer Networking Technician (ACNT) “C” School at AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) Dahlgren, VA and was promoted to FC3 in December 1999.  Completing “C” school in June 2000, he reported to Pre-commissioning Unit (PCU) Lassen (DDG 82) in Pascagoula, MS, where he advanced to FC2 in December 2000. Homeported out of San Diego, CA, he completed Lassen’s maiden deployment to the Western Pacific in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003. He was advanced to FC1 in November 2003 before detaching in October 2004.

He returned to ATRC Dahlgren, VA as an Instructor and Course Supervisor for the ACNT Tracks I and II courses of instruction in December 2004.  He quickly earned his Master Training Specialist Qualification, was recognized as both ATRC and Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Instructor of the Year 2006 and was proudly advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 2007.  In March 2008 he reported aboard USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) as CF Division LCPO and CMEO Manager, where he completed two deployments. Advancing to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2010, he assumed duties as Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM) and Combat Systems Departmental LCPO until his departure in February 2013.

An April 2013 graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, RI, he was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in May 2013 while serving as Force Fire Controlman at Commander Surface Forces Atlantic until May 2016. He currently serves as Destroyer Squadron Two’s Senior Enlisted Advisor.
