CDR Yakubisin was commissioned in May 2005 via NROTC at Vanderbilt University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She completed Nuclear Power School and Prototype in Charleston, South Carolina in April of 2008. She earned her Master’s Degree in Engineering Management via Old Dominion University in 2013.
At Sea tours include Combat Information Center Officer in USS Ponce (LPD 15), Reactor Controls Division Officer in USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), Operations Officer in USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53), and Reactor Electrical Assistant in USS George H W Bush (CVN 77).
Ashore tours include Shift Engineer in Moored Training Ship 635 and Executive Officer Moored Training Ship 626 both at Nuclear Prototype Training Unit, Charleston, South Carolina.
Awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards).
She joined USS Milwaukee as Executive Officer in June of 2020.
