Commander Sesler, a native of Miami, Florida. She graduated from Grambling State University in 2001 and earned a master’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Health Care Management from Trident University. She received her commissioning through Officer Candidate School in 2003.
Commander Sesler’s first sea tour was aboard USS Essex (LHD 2) from December 2003 until March 2006, where she served as Auxiliary Division Officer and Combat Electronics (CE) Division Officer. In June 2006, she reported to USS Decatur (DDG 73) and served as the Training Officer until December 2007. In December 2011, she reported as the Operations Officer on USS Klakring (FFG 42). In June 2013, she reported to COMDESRON FIFTY as the Operations Officer. She then reported to Commander Carrier Strike Group Twelve as the Assistant Surface Operation Officer, where they deployed on USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Commander Sesler participated in deployments in the Arabian Gulf, the Horn of Africa, and the Indian Ocean in support of Operation Unified Assistance.
Commander Sesler’s tours ashore include a Candidate Guidance Officer for Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps in Pensacola, Florida. Surface and Information Operation Planner on the staff of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command. She is currently serving onboard USS Hershel “Woody” Williams (ESB 4) as Blue Milcrew Executive Officer.
Commander Sesler’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal; Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards); Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various unit, service and campaign awards.
