Command Master Chief Sherita Jackson is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She enlisted in the Navy in August 1996, attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. She attended Aerographer’s Mate, A and C Schools in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Command Master Chief Jackson’s sea duty assignments include USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33), USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67), USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3), USS BATAAN (LHD 5), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), and USS WICHITA (LCS 13).
Her shore tours include Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, Naval Aviation Forecast Center Norfolk, Naval Professional Development Detachment Atlantic, and Fleet Weather Center Norfolk. She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 205, Gold), and a graduate of Command Master Chief Course (Class 208).
Her current assignment is Command Master Chief, USS LASSEN (DDG 82).
Command Master Chief Jackson personal decorations include the Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare, Enlisted Information Warfare, and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist pins. The Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Award (six awards) and the Good Conduct Award (eight awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations.
