Cmdr. Kevin Hagan is a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and a 2003 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned his commission and Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He holds a Masters in Information Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Hagan’s sea duty assignments include: Interior Communications Division Officer aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), where he completed a deployment to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Unified Assistance and Iraqi Freedom; a Division Officer tour at Destroyer Squadron 26 (CDS 26) as the Assistant Operations Officer, during which time CDS 26 led several major exercises, including BALTOPS 2006 and Neptune Warrior 06-3; Operations Officer aboard USS Ramage (DDG 61), where he completed a EUCOM deployment in support of Ballistic Missile Defense operations in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea; and Operations Officer and the Air and Missile Defense Liaison to Carrier Strike Group Ten aboard USS Gettysburg (CG 64) and USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), during which time he completed a Strike Group deployment to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He most recently served as Executive Officer aboard USS San Antonio (LPD 17).
Hagan’s shore tours include: ASAT and Shiphandling Instructor at the Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, Rhode Island; Surface Officer Metrics for PERS-41 at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee; Surface Warfare Officer Community Manager at BUPERS-3; and as the Korea Desk Officer to the Joint Staff in the J5 Deputy Directorate.
Hagan has received several decorations and awards including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
