A 2006 graduate of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program from the University of South Florida, Commander Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He earned his Master of Science Degree from the University of Arkansas in Operations Management and Joint Phase Military Education I through the Air Command and Staff College. He is originally from Houston, TX.
A career surface warfare officer, Commander Williams’ shipboard assignments include: USS CHAFEE (DDG 90) as Electrical Officer and First Lieutenant, USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) as Navigator, and USS COLE (DDG 67) as Weapons and Combat Systems Officer. He has deployed to 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th Fleet Areas of Operations. His sole shore assignment was Flag Speechwriter and Website Manager for Commander, Navy Personnel Command. He has also served in sea assignments as Future Operations Planner for Expeditionary Strike Group TWO, and as Officer in Charge of Atlantic Sealift Operations Support Element. Most recently, he served as Executive Officer onboard USS LITTLE ROCK (LCS 9).
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards. He lives in St. Johns, FL with his wife, Robin and sons Chance and Bryce and daughter, Finley.
