Cmdr. Brad Long

Cmdr. Brad Long is a native of Reston, Virginia, and a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned his commission and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
His initial sea duty assignment was as the Combat Information Center Officer aboard USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49), after which he completed nuclear power training. He completed subsequent sea duty assignments aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), USS Nicholas (FFG 47), and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Most recently he served as Commanding Officer of USS Little Rock (Gold).
Ashore, Long has served as an Electrical Engineering Instructor at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, as a Requirements Officer and the Deputy Executive Assistant for the Director of Surface Warfare Division on the Navy Staff (N96), and Defense Resource Manager for the Program and Budget Division on the Joint Staff (J-8).
Long holds a master’s in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (Five), Navy Achievement Medal (Two), and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
