Command Senior Chief Lamar R. Ditimus is a native of New Orleans, Lousiana. Following graduation from Frederick A. Douglass High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, September 1996. 

After completing boot camp, his first sea duty assignment was aboard USS Detroit (AOE 4) as a Deck Supervisor. Ashore, he was assigned to Port Operations Kings Bay, Georgia and MA-RCM Norfolk, Virginia. 

Returning to sea, he was assigned to the USS Saipan (LHA 2) as 2nd Division Assistant Leading Petty Officer (LPO). He then reported to Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Yokosuka, Japan, as a Maintenance Supervisor. 

His third sea duty assignment was aboard USS Cole (DDG 67), where he served as acting Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) and Departmental LPO. He then reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois where he served as a Recruit Division Commander and Temporary Holding Unit LCPO. Prior to his current assignment, he was selected as a Command Senior Chief while serving aboard USS Ramage (DDG 61).

Ditimus’ personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and individual awards.
