 Command Master Chief (CMC) Jay’e Jerrod’e Bell, a native of Augusta, Georgia, enlisted in the Navy in December 1994.

Bell’s sea duty assignments include: USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG 58), where he completed two deployments before cross rating to the Gunner’s Mate (Guns) rating; a 3”/.50 Caliber Gun Technician aboard USS Stark (FFG 31), where he completed a deployment before the Stark’s decommissioning; USS Lake Erie (CG 70), where he supported the first Ballistic Defense Missions, earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Combat Systems Officer Of The Watch and Combat Systems Coordinator qualifications and was advanced to Chief Petty Officer; CG Division’s Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) and Departmental LCPO aboard USS Port Royal (CG 73); 3MC aboard USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110), where he advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer; CMC USS O’Kane (DDG 77), where he earned the Secretary Of Defense Maintenance Award for 2019; and most recently,  CMC aboard USS Gettysburg (CG 64). 

Ashore, Bell’s assignments include: a Small Arms Training Instructor and an administrative support role for Reserve Assets Naval/Marine Corps Reserve Center Augusta, Georgia, where he advanced to Third Class Petty Officer; Naval Station Mayport Base Weapons Department, where he advanced to Second Class Petty Officer; Gunner’s Mate Apprenticeship School and Vertical Launch Systems “C” School, where advanced to First Class Petty Officer; 5’ 54 “C” School in San Diego; Advanced Vertical Launch Systems Technician School in Port Hueneme, California; Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard  as the Vertical Launch Systems Support Technician and Ship’s Maintenance Supervisor for USS Hopper (DDG 70), USS Chosin (CG 65) and USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93), where he advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and served temporally as acting CMC for Shipyard; and Maintenance and Material Management Coordinator School in San Diego;

Bell has no individual awards but has been recognized through team efforts throughout his career .
