Command Master Chief Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy in October 2001 after graduating in June from High School in East Hartford, Connecticut. Upon graduating, from recruit training and seaman apprentice training, she reported to her first ship, USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71).
She has attended several Navy technical schools and is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy (Orange Class 198) and the CMC/COB Course Class 21060 .She also graduated from Operations Specialist “C” School, Air Intercept Controller School and Air Intercept Controller Supervisory School.
She has been assigned to numerous duty stations with increased responsibility throughout her career. Her duty stations include USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71), Norfolk, VA as a Deck Seaman, subsequently becoming an Operations Specialist while working through “on the job training”; FIGHTER SQUADRON COMPOSITE ONE ELEVEN (VFC-111), Key West, FL as an Air Intercept Controller, where she was awarded Sailor of the Year and advanced to Petty Officer First Class; USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75), Norfolk, VA where she was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in September 2012; Afloat Training Group Norfolk, VA as the Carrier Team Lead Assessor, where she qualified Afloat Training Specialist, Master Training Specialist and advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. She was ultimately advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer, the highest enlisted paygrade in the Navy while serving onboard USS WASP (LHD-1) as the Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and completing a homeport change from Sasebo, Japan to Norfolk, Virginia. She reported to COMMANDER NAVAL SURFACE FORCE ATLANTIC on January 2020 as the Force Operations Specialist and was selected for the Command Master Chief program in February 2021. She reported to USS MICHAEL MURPHY (DDG-112), her first Command Master Chief tour in May 2021. Command Master Chief Joseph led the ship and crew through a FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet Deployment and Dry dock. Under her leadership, MICHAEL MURPHY received her first ever Battle Efficiency Award and entered her first ever Dry dock. CMDCM Joseph recently reported to DESTROYER SQUADRON TWO EIGHT in Norfolk, Virginia.
Command Master Chief Joseph’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards) and various unit and campaign awards. She also earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist insignias.
