Capt. Corey Keniston, a native of Texas, received his commission from Texas A&M University in 1993.
Keniston’s sea duty assignments include: Engineering Division Officer aboard USS Kalamazoo (AOR 6); Combat Information Center officer aboard USS Vicksburg (CG 69); Department Head tours as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS Bunker Hill (CG 52); Executive Officer aboard USS Vella Gulf (CG 72); Commanding Officer aboard USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51); Executive Officer aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5); and most recently, Commanding Officer USS Gettysburg (CG 64).
Ashore, Keniston’s assignments include: instructor duty at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center, where he earned his Masters of Science in Education from Old Dominion University; In-service and Advanced Radar Section Head at Surface Warfare Operations and Requirements (OPNAV N76); Flag Aide to Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Operations and Requirements N6/7; J-3/EUCOM/NATO Desk for the Joint Staff; attendance at the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy; a Special Assistant to the Commander European Command/SACEUR, stationed in Mons, Belgium; and Chief of Staff for Expeditionary Strike Group 2.
