 Command Master Chief Paul Dammon grew up throughout the United States and abroad, as a member of a military family. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1999. Upon completion of basic training, he attended Surface Sonar Technician Apprenticeship School in San Diego, California, and then continued on with several “C” schools before his first fleet assignment. Dammon’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in Management, the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200/Red), and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 180).

Dammon’s sea duty assignments include: USS Nicholas (FFG 47); USS Ingraham (FFG 61); a commissioning crew member of the guided missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109); Command Senior Chief at Beachmaster Unit Two, where he was selected for Master Chief Petty Officer; and most recently, Command Master Chief aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55). During his sea tours he completed multiple deployments to the 5th and 6th Fleet Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and to the 4th Fleet AOR in support of Operation Martillo Counter Transnational Organized Crime operations.

Ashore, Dammon served two tours at Commander Undersea Surveillance, at Dam Neck, Virginia. 

Dammon’s military awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (4 awards), and various unit and service medals and ribbons. He has also earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Specialist insignias.
