Commander Jeff Servello is a native of Hollywood, Maryland. A 2002 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Masters of Professional Studies in Leadership, Education, and Development from the University of Maryland.
Afloat, he began his career as a Surface Warfare Officer on USS Porty Royal (CG 73) as the ship’s Auxiliaries Officer, Fire Control Officer, and Damage Control Assistant. As a department head he served as the Chief Engineer on USS Nitze (DDG 94) and USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55). From June 2013 until November 2014 Servello commanded USS Squall (PC 7) leading operations in the Arabian Gulf and a homeport shift for the ship. Before assuming command of USS Paul Ignatius he served as the ship’s Executive Officer from December 2019 to April 2021.
Ashore, Commander Servello served at the United States Naval Academy, as an instructor of naval science and as the officer representative for the Yard Patrol Squadron. He later served as a placement officer and detailer for Surface Warfare Officer Distribution at the Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee. Most recently Servello was as an instructor at the Surface Warfare Officer School Command Newport, Rhode Island.
