Command Master Chief Jumont Stewart is a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina. He attended Rock Hill High School, and upon graduation reported to Navy Boot Camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois (C338), June 1997, upon completion of boot camp, he attended Aviation Support Equipment Technician Apprenticeship School at Navy Technical Training Center Pensacola, Florida.

His tours included Naval Air Station (NAS) JRB New Orleans Security Department, New Orleans; Naval Air Facility Washington, Washington D.C.; Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD), New Orleans; Fleet Readiness Center Fort Worth, Texas; Strike Fighter Squadron 204 (VFA 204), New Orleans;  Naval Operational Support Center Charlotte, North Carolina;  Commander Naval Air Forces Reserve, Norfolk Virginia. 

In 1998 he reported to NAS JRB New Orleans Security Department, Louisiana. He reported to Naval Air Facility Washington, D.C. in 2001 as Support Equipment Technician. In 2003 he reported to the Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department, New Orleans. From there he reported to Fleet Readiness Center, Fort Worth, Texas in 2006 as Leading Petty Officer. He then transferred to Strike Fighter Squadron 204 (VFA 204), New Orleans in 2010 as Quality Assurance and Maintenance Control Chief. In 2013 he transferred to Navy Operational Support Center Charlotte, North Carolina as Senior Enlisted Leader. Then he transferred to Commander Naval Air Forces Reserve in 2016 and was promoted to Master Chief and selected for Command Master Chief. In March 2019 he reported to USS Truxtun (DDG 103) to assume the duties as the Command Master Chief.

Stewart is a 2016 graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 201 (Green Group) and in 2019 completed the Command Master Chief/ Chief of the Boat course in Newport, Rhode Island.

His personal awards and decorations include Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit, service, and campaign awards. He is qualified as Air Warfare Specialist and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northwood University, Cedar Hill, Fort Worth, Texas.
