Cmdr. Matt Krull

Cmdr. Matt Krull is a native of Manchester, New Hampshire, and a 2002 graduate of Boston University, where he earned his commission and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He also holds a Master of Science from Boston College.
Krull’s sea duty assignments include: Electrical and Auxiliaries Officer aboard USS Carr (FFG 52); Navigation Officer aboard USS Cole (DDG 67); Weapons Officer and Combat Systems officer aboard USS Momsen (DDG 92); Executive Officer aboard USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79); and most recently, he assumed the duties of Commanding Officer aboard Oscar Austin, November 2020.
Ashore, Krull’s assignments include: a Joint assignment at U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida; Federal Executive Fellowship in Washington, D.C.; and instructor duty at the U.S. Navy’s Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island, where he also served and deployed as an individual augmentee.
Krull is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, Kansas, and completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase II through in residence study at the Joint Forces Staff College’s Joint and Combined Warfighting School in Norfolk, Virginia.
Krull’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
