Cmdr. James Walker, a native of Petal, Mississippi, graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Art degree in History.
Walker’s sea duty assignments include: Work Center Supervisor aboard USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54), First Lieutenant and Combat Information Center Officer aboard USS Simpson (FFG 56), Damage Control Assistant aboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), Detachment Officer in Charge (OIC) for Riverine Squadron 1, Chief Engineer aboard USS Nitze (DDG 94) and Staff Director and Material (N4) in Destroyer Squadron 2.
Ashore Walker has served as the Project Officer for Engineering Assessments Atlantic and Project Officer (N44) for Commander Naval Surface Forces Atlantic.
Walker has a master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in National Security Affairs. He reported to USS Ramage (DDG 61) as the Executive Officer in February 2020.
