Command Master Chief Tyrone Jiles, a native of Rayville, Louisiana, he enlisted in the Navy, June 1995. He attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and completed Signalman Apprenticeship school in Orlando, Florida. He converted to the Navy Counselor rating in May 2004. He is a graduate of the U.S. Senior Enlisted Academy Class 162 (Deans List) and the CMC/COB course, Class 199. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Management and Technology.
Jiles’ sea assignments include tours aboard USS Doyle (FFG 39), USS The Sullivans (DDG 68), USS George Washington (CVN 73), and USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77).
Ashore, Jiles’ assignments include: Training Support Center Hampton Roads, Dam Neck, Virginia; Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Commander, United States Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Throughout his career, he has completed numerous deployments to the U.S. 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Tomadachi.
Jiles warfare qualifications include Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 Awards), Good Conduct Medal (5 awards) and numerous other unit, campaign, and service awards.
