 Command Master Chief Eric W. Hill, a native of Long Branch, New Jersey and Havelock, North Carolina, graduated from Havelock High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He attended basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois in November 1994 before attending Yeoman Apprenticeship School in Meridian, Mississippi. 

Hill’s first assignment was Secretary of the Navy’s Physical Evaluation Board, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. He then reported, as a student, to Broadened Opportunity Officer Selection and Training (BOOST). From there he reported to Naval Criminal Investigation Services Headquarters, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. Hill’s first sea tour was with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 121 (VAW 121), where he deployed aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67), September 2000. He next reported to the “Warlocks” of Scientific Development Squadron 1 (VXS 1) aboard Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, October 2002. 

In December 2006, Hill reported to USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia. His next assignment was Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group, Suitland, Maryland, January 2010. During this tour he was also tasked to serve as an individual augmentee with the DOD Criminal Investigation Task Force. In March 2014 he joined the “Sunliners” of Strike Fighter Squadron 81 (VFA 81) at Naval Air Station Oceana, where he completed a nine-and-a-half-month deployment aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). He was selected into the Command Senior Chief/Command Master Chief program and in September 2016 he reported as Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Bahrain’s first Command Senior Chief. In March 2018 Hill reported as Command Master Chief, Navy Recruiting District Richmond, VA. 

Hill is a graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 178, Purple) and the CMC/COB Course (Class 162). He earned his Associate’s Degrees in Criminal Justice from Grantham University and in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.
