Capt. Judd Krier, a native of Bath, Pennsylvania, is a 1997 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He also holds a master's degree in engineering management from Old Dominion University.
 
Krier’s sea duty assignments include service as the Strike Officer aboard USS Vicksburg (CG 69), Reactor Control Divisions Officer aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), First Lieutenant aboard USS Ponce (LPD 15), and After Station Officer aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65), where he completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase I training through the Air Command and Staff College. From 2013-2016, Krier served as both Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52). 
 
Ashore, Krier’s assignments include service as an Electrical Engineering Master Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, a J5 Action Officer for the Joint Staff, the Surface Warfare Officer (Nuclear) Program Manager for OPNAV N133, and Commanding Officer, Nuclear Power Training Unit Ballston Spa, New York.
 
His decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), and the Navy Achievement Medal (three awards).
