Cmdr. Bo Mancuso

Commander Mancuso is a native of Florida. He graduated from Florida State University in 2001, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Upon graduation he was selected for Officer Candidate School and earned his naval commission in November 2001.
CDR Mancuso’s sea tours include: USS VELLA GULF (CG 72) serving as Ordnance and Force Protection Officer from 2002-2004, deploying as Air Defense Commander for the GEORGE WASHINGTON CSG; USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80) as Fire Control and Combat Information Center Officer from 2004-2006, supporting counter-piracy operations in the Horn of Africa; USS SAMPSON (DDG 102) as Weapons and Combat Systems Officer from 2009-2012, deploying in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and various exercises throughout 5th and 7th Fleet Area of Operations.
Ashore, CDR Mancuso served as Training Liaison Officer and Director of Training at Afloat Training Group Mayport from 2006-2009. Post Department Head, he served at Commander Carrier Strike Group Four in the Surface Operations department responsible for advanced Live Fire events. He also served as senior assessor for warships and Maritime Interdiction Operations.
He received his Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies and Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 from the United States Naval War College in 2009.
CDR Mancuso reported to Afloat Training Group Mayport in February of 2015 and served as Topside Warfare and Combat Systems Director completing his tour as Executive Officer. He reported to USS THOMAS HUDNER (DDG 116) in July of 2019 and served as Executive Officer for 15 months.
CDR Mancuso’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
