Cmdr. Michael S. Kiser

Executive Officer, USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109)

Commander Michael Kiser was commissioned in 2003 via Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit Boston University. 

Afloat, Commander Kiser served as the Combat Information Center Officer aboard USS Doyle (FFG 39), Training Officer aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), Operations Officer aboard USS Donald Cook (DDG 75), and as Commanding Officer of USS Sirocco (PC 6). 
 
Ashore, Commander Kiser served as an instructor at Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit Boston University, on the Joint Staff; and on the staff of US Coast Guard Atlantic Area.
 
He has a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Master of Arts in Political Science, and a Master of Criminal Justice in Criminal Justice Administration from Boston University. He holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Additionally, he has a master license of 200 ton motor vessels. 
 
Commander Kiser's personal decorations include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards).
