 Cmdr. Christopher Cummins is a native of San Jose, Calif., and a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics and was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy.

Cummins’ sea duty assignments include Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer aboard USS Klakring (FFG 42), Training Officer aboard USS Carney (DDG 64), Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS Higgins (DDG 76), and Executive Officer aboard USS Mahan (DDG 72).
 
Ashore, Cummins served as the lead Combat Systems Inspector for Commander, Naval Surface Forces Pacific, Ballistic Missile Defense Policy Action Officer (N51) for the Chief of Naval Operations, and Political Military Action Officer for Israel, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan at the Joint Staff (J5) Deputy Directorate for the Middle East.
 
Cummins earned his Master of Science in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School.
