Senior Chief Christopher S. Garcia is a native of Arizona. He enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1998 under the delayed entry program. He completed Basic Training at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois, in December 1998 and Radioman “A” School at Service School Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, March 1999.
Senior Chief Garcia has completed sea duty assignments aboard USS Tarawa (LHA 1), USS Gridley (DDG 101) (Plankowner), Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 4, Coastal Riverine Squadron 4, (Plankowner), USS San Antonio (LPD 17), and currently serves as the deputy N6 and command senior enlisted leader for Commander, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 28.
Senior Chief Garcia’s shore duty assignments include Naval Communications and Telecommunications Area Master Station (NCTAMS) EURCENT Detachment Rota, Spain, Afloat Training Group Norfolk, and Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4.
His personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and various other unit, campaign, and service awards and graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, Rhode Island, Class 214 (Brown) and proud graduate of Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat, Class 222.
He has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Insignia, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Insignia, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist Insignia, Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist Insignia and Small Craft (Tactical Craft Boat Captain) Special Insignia.
