Captain Judson Mallory, a native of Georgia, is a 2000 graduate of The Citadel. He was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Program in May 2000.
CAPT Mallory served as USS LASSEN’s (DDG 82) Commanding Officer from 2019 to 2020 where she deployed and operated in 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleets. He served as her Executive Officer from 2017 to 2019.
CAPT Mallory’s sea assignments also include USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) where he served as a Department Head. As a Division Officer, he served in USS CHAFEE (DDG 90) and USS TARAWA (LHA 1).
Ashore, CAPT Mallory most recently served on the OPNAV Staff as the Branch Head for Naval Distribution (OPNAV N4L2). Previous to that assignment he served as Deputy Director, Maritime Operations Center for Commander, USNAVSO/COMFOURTHFLT. He has served as the Strategy and Plans Director (N5) for USNAVSO/COMFOURTHFLT, Future Capabilities Liaison Officer for NATO Transformation Command to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium, Cruiser/Destroyer Placement Officer at COMNAVPERSCOM (PERS 41). While as a Naval ROTC instructor at The University of Virginia, he was assigned as an Individual Augmentee and served in Afghanistan in 2007 as a member of the Joint Task Force PALADIN (Counter IED).
CAPT Mallory was awarded a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Air Command and Staff College in 2013. His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), Army Achievement Medal and various campaign, service, and unit awards. Judson is married to Leslie Ann (Wilkerson) Mallory and has two sons; Judson Andrew (15) and Robert (11).
