Master Chief Kevin Goodrich enlisted in the United States Navy in May, 1991. After completing Recruit Training and Electronics Technician “A” school phase one at Recruit Training Command and Service School Command in Orlando, he transferred to Naval Training Center Great Lakes Illinois to complete his training. Upon graduation, he completed several “C” schools in San Diego, California, and Norfolk, Virginia, before reporting to his first ship in November 1992.

Master Chief Goodrich’s sea duty assignments include assignments is USS Saginaw (LST 1188), USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), USS Cape St. George (CG 71), USS Nassau (LHA 4), USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) and USS Bataan (LHD 5) as well as duty in Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 2. He has seen multiple deployments to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea and operations and port visits in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, as well as hurricane relief efforts in Galveston, Texas, following Hurricane Ike, in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew, and in the U.S. Virgin Islands / Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Ashore, Master Chief served at Fleet Training Center, Norfolk as an instructor, and at Fleet Technical Support Center/Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk as a field service engineer and as the command master chief of Naval Support Activity (NSA) Hampton Roads.

He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy and CMC/COB Course in Newport, Rhode Island; MCPON’s Executive Leader Symposium in Norfolk, Virginia; the Navy Senior Leader Seminar in Monterey, California; and the National Defense University’s keystone course in Washington, D.C.

Master Chief Goodrich is designated as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and a Master Training Specialist. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (8 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
