Senior Chief Boerner is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.  He is married to Pamela Boerner of Orlando, Florida.  They have three children together, Zachary (22), Summer (16) and Savannah (12).  He earned his Associates of Science from the City University of Seattle, in 2013.  He graduated the Senior Enlisted Academy, in November 2021 and Basic Enlisted Submarine school, Auxiliary Security Force and Sonar “A” school in 2002.  He attended the Enlisted Navy Recruiting Orientation unit in 2006 and the Career Recruit Force Academy, in 2014. He attended the Sonar LCPO course, Command Career Counselor school, CMEO school and theChief Petty Officer Leadership Development Course. His warfare designations include Submarine Warfare qualification and Strategic Deterrent Patrol qualification. 
  
During his first assignment, he was stationed onboard the USS LOUISIANA (SSBN 743) Gold crew from 2002-2006, where he achieved his Sonar Supervisor qualification.  In 2007, he was assigned to Navy Recruiting District Miami, where he served as a Recruiter and Recruiter in Charge. In 2010, he was assigned to the USS FLORIDA (SSGN 728) stationed in Kingsbay, Georgia and forward deployed out of Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory. While assigned there he advanced to Sonar Chief Petty Officer and served as the Command Career Counselor and Leading Sonar Chief Petty Officer.  After being selected to cross rate to Navy Counselor Career Recruit Force in 2014, he was assigned to Navy Recruiting District New Orleans where he qualified as DLCPO and Officer Recruiter.  In New Orleans, he served as a station Leading Chief and Division Leading Chief Petty Officer in the Central Mississippi area. In 2017, he was assigned duty to Navy Recruiting District Atlanta where he served as Division Leading Chief Petty Officer in the Central Alabama area and Command CMEO. While at NRD Atlanta he qualified Division Officer.  In 2020, he was selected for Instructor Duty at Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit at NAS Pensacola, where he has served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, Operations Department Chief, CNRC National Command Program Inspector and Instructor. Achievements at NORU include, lead instructor training for the Recruiting Leadership Course, and conducted mentorship for first term serving Commanding Officers, Executive Officers and Command Master Chiefs nation-wide.  While at NORU he qualified Master Training Specialist and completed his Command Senior Chief PQS. He was selected in February 2024 as a Command Senior Chief.  

His community involvement was with the Fernandina Beach Police department from 20102014 where he served as an Auxiliary Police officer four years earning a military Outstanding Volunteer Service award. His summary of awards includes: 5 Navy Commendation medals and 5 Navy Achievement medals.
