Commander Aaron Arky, a native of Modesto, California, graduated in 2004 from California Maritime Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and was commissioned through the Merchant Marine Reserve program.
Afloat, he completed division officer tours as First Lieutenant aboard USS FORD (FFG 54) and Main Propulsion Division Officer aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63); department head tours as Chief Engineer aboard USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) and USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55). Most recently he served as Executive Officer aboard USS SHILOH (CG 67).
Ashore, Commander Arky attended the Naval Postgraduate School, in Monterey, California, earning a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies (National Security Affairs); served as an action officer in Global Force Management branch for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command; as an assessor for Engineering Assessments Atlantic; and as a senior assessor for Afloat Training Group Norfolk.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and various other campaign and unit awards.
